ABOUT UNMAPPED
Unmapped is a creative, transdisciplinary research group that specialise in the arts and wellbeing. Our unique approach combines robust academic research methods and artistic expertise. We enable exploration and innovative approaches with people with dementia and other neurodiverse groups.
Exploration, by its nature, means you are never quite sure where you will end up - but invariably our results are interesting, unexpected and fulfilling. We have been on journeys of discovery with people involved with universities, museums, care homes, cultural venues, hospitals, businesses, schools and charities.
Unmapped is a partnership between Dr Hannah Zeilig and Julian West. Julian is a musician and researcher. He is Head of Open Academy at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he is an honorary fellow. Hannah is a senior research fellow at the University of the Arts in London, and a visiting research fellow at the University of East Anglia.
Between 2016 - 18 they worked together at Created Out of Mind, an interdisciplinary research group who were the recipients of Wellcome’s prestigious Hub Award.
